Rehearsal Aids

Simon's rehearsal plan will be linked here once available.

Rehearsal aids

A number of websites provide rehearsal aids to help you practise your part.  You can bookmark, favourite or download them to avoid having to come back here each time.

Chord Perfect's rehearsal aids are performed by professional singers. They are free to play online (you only pay if you want to download the files.)

John Fletcher Music

Being out of copyright, access is free, though you still need to sign up.

To play the files, click the link above, and login if necessary.  (Or you can search for a piece / composer in the search box.)  Many works - including Creation - now
use a new player, which is simple to use - just select a movement, your part and press play.  You can also download each file to your computer (or mobile device if you know how!) to play offline.

Cyberbass

Click here for The Creation on Cyberbass

Click on your part next to the required movement. Buried among the ads are playback controls allowing you to play slower or faster, and position controls that allow you to quickly jump forward/back by 3 or 10 seconds.  You can also enter a start time (A) and an end time (B) and then press LoopAB to play this section in an endless loop, very useful for learning tricky corners. Annoyingly, A & B must be entered in seconds, so you have to convert from the minutes & seconds shown on the timeline above (e.g. to start at 2:30, enter 150 in box A)

YouTube

There are various rehearsal aids for The Creation on Youtube, none look as good as those above.  This one seems the most comprehensive.

Note that from the ⚙ (Settings) menu you can adjust the playback speed to a preset or custom value, to play your line more slowly.

Spotify

If you already subscribe to Spotify, it is a good place to find performances (and occasionally parts too.)  If you don't subscribe, it's not really worth doing so just for rehearsal aids, as the subscription cost is high and ever-increasing.  There are other similar services like Amazon Music too.
